Francis Edward Brummel, 83, of Pilot Grove, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Katy Manor.
Francis was born on February 6, 1939, in Clear Creek, MO. His first two years of school were in a little one room school house in Nelson, MO. The family moved to Pilot Grove in 1950, and he attended St. Joseph School and was an altar boy there. He graduated from Pilot Grove high school in 1958. He was in FFA in high school.
He worked at several different jobs, the last of which was driving bus for Boonville. He liked to hunt rabbits and squirrels. He had a good sense of the weather and loved watching wildlife, particularly birds. He enjoyed going to tractor shows and was particularly fond of Oliver tractors. He loved history and kept up with politics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Edward and Marie Lucille (Stoecklein) Brummel; and his younger brother, John Wilbur Brummel.
Francis is survived by his two sisters, Mary Louise (Brummel) Schwartz and Sr. Regina Ann Brummel; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, with Father Mark Smith, officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 am until service time at the church.
Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pilot Grove.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Casa Maria, 3721 Belmont Rd, Irondale, AL 35210, where his niece, Sister Marie Francesca, faithfully serves.
Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
