Fay Margarethe Lanning

Fay Margarethe (Heimsoth) Lanning, age 99, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Topeka, Kansas.

Fay was born September 8, 1919, in Stover, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Lanning, in 1986.

Survivors include sons Richard Lanning (Valerie) of St. Charles, Mo., John Lanning (Judy) of Naples, Fla., daughter Carolyn Lanning Watson (John) of Topeka, Kan.; grandson Scott Lanning (Alison) of Chesterfield, Mo.; granddaughters Pamela Castellano (Jerry) of O’Fallon, Mo., Elizabeth Marvan (Clay), Emily Lanning and Eleanor Lanning of Denver, Colo., Jennifer Miller (Ross) of Fort Worth, Texas, Kristen Reustle (Eric) of Upton, Mass.; great-grandchildren Alexandra Smith of Denver, Andrea Lanning of Chicago, Scott August Lanning of St. Louis, Nathan Marvan of New York City, Lily Miller of Denver, Madeline Marvan of Denver, Greta Miller of Fort Worth; brothers John L. Heimsoth, Jr., of Warrensburg, Mo., Neil Heimsoth (Marilyn) of Cole Camp, Mo.; and many nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with a reception to follow. Inurnment will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Stover.

In honor of Fay’s granddaughters, memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York NY 10163, or the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover St, Boston MA 02339.
