Evelyn Ishum

Evelyn Ishum, age 71, of Stover passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at her home.

It was the 5th day of June in 1950 when James and Ida Faye Sexton Greene welcomed their baby girl, Sarah Evelyn, into their home in Granite City, Illinois.

Evelyn was a dedicated nurse working in different community nursing homes throughout her life.

Her prayer group that she attended online was very important to her. She also liked to spend her time camping, watching the Atlanta Braves play, and spending time with her eleven-year-old dog, Freckles.

Left to carry on Evelyn’s legacy is her son, Tony Ishum of Stover; her brother, Gary Greene and his wife Nancy of Eldon; her sister, Deborah McCoy of Stover; along with nieces and nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Tim McCoy, Jimmy Greene, and Michael Greene.

In keeping with her wishes, Evelyn was cremated. Services will be planned at a later date.
