Esther E. Jungmeyer

Esther E. Jungmeyer, age 87, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
She was born October 28, 1920, in Cole County, a daughter of J.W. and Minnie Propst Ott. Esther was baptized December 12, 1920, and confirmed April 29, 1934, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek. The confirmation verse chosen was Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." On January 1, 1942, at Honey Creek, Esther married Oscar Jungmeyer and he survives at their home
Esther was a homemaker, busy raising her three children. She enjoyed working in her garden, quilting, and doing crossword puzzles. Her specialties were dill pickles and homemade doughnuts.
She was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Jefferson City.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Bob Jungmeyer of Jefferson City; one daughter, Linda Hall and husband Kenny of Jefferson City; a daughter-in-law, Elena Jungmeyer of Jefferson City; two sisters, Emma Blochberger of Eugene and Ruth Burton of Brazito; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Jungmeyer, one daughter-in-law, Jackie Jungmeyer, four brothers, Ernest, Bill, Edgar and Paul Ott and two sisters, Elsie Knernschield and Frieda Schubert.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, at Peace Lutheran Church south of Jefferson City with Pastor Erik Gernander officiating. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 20, at the Peace Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Peace Lutheran Improvement Fund.
