Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Felgar, 90, of Bunceton, MO passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
She was born November 28, 1931, in Burlington, Iowa, to Elmer L. and Blanche (Burns) Anderson, who preceded her in death. Betty graduated from Sperry High School in Sperry, Iowa, in 1949 and went on to attend and graduate from Business School in Burlington, Iowa. Betty worked for the mayor of Burlington, Iowa and councilmen before her marriage to James "Jim" Felgar on February 21, 1954, in Mediapolis, Iowa. Betty and Jim were married for 59 years before his passing on April 3, 2013.
Betty enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and in recent years playing Mexican dominoes. She loved caring for her family and helping her husband on the farm. She was a 4-H Leader during her children's youth and was active in school functions. She loved traveling extensively with family and friends. Visits from her family and grandchildren were always special times. Betty dearly loved being a part of their lives. She was a member of the Cooper County Farm Bureau Board for many years.
Survivors include one son, Linn (Teri) Felgar of Bunceton; five daughters, Sarah (David) Kuschel of Bunceton, Rebecca Thompson of Jefferson City, Mary Jo Felgar of Bunceton, Susan (Mike) Gregory of Bunceton, and Florence (Charles) Jackson of Russellville; fourteen grandchildren, Katie Swearengen, Emily Kuschel, Jon Kuschel, Stephanie Pope, Mandy Taylor, Missy Felgar, Jamie Felgar, Courtney Felgar, Paul Thompson, Chris Gregory, Jason Gregory, Tyler Gregory, Cory Jackson, Cole Jackson; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Anderson; two brothers-in law, Bill Scott and Edd Felgar; two sisters-in law, Charlotte Scott and Darlene Felgar; her nephew, John Scott; and her beloved grand dog, Sammy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO. Visitation will begin at noon until service time at the Funeral Home.
Burial will take place in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Bunceton Federated Church.
