Dylan Michael Rex, age 33, of Stover, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at Lake Regional Health Center due to injuries sustained in an accident. He was born March 15, 1986, in Sedalia, the son of Michael Moore and Kathy Rex. Dylan was a 2005 graduate of Stover High School. He had worked for several years as a jailer with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and was currently working for his brother-in-law at Wehmeyer Fencing in Stover. As a teenager he raced BMX bikes and continued to enjoy driving all-terrain vehicles. Dylan was an avid outdoors-man, who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother-in-law, Thatcher. He was known as a grill master and looked forward to entertaining his family and friends. However, his greatest enjoyment came from being with his family, especially the time he could spend with his son, Ryker. Dylan had a gift of bringing a smile to people’s faces; he was quick with a joke or a needed word of encouragement and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His generosity became even more evident in his decision to be an organ donor; hoping his decision could save the life of a complete stranger. Survivors include his parents, Kathy Rex Hatton of Stover and Mike Moore of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his son, Ryker Dylan Rex of the home; step- children, Dustin and Abby Koeller, one brother, Travis Burke, wife Kara and son Chase of Ozark; one sister, Lacy Wehmeyer and husband Thatcher of Stover; his maternal grandparents, George and Elaine Rex of Stover; special friend, Ashley Judd of Versailles; one uncle, Wayne Rex, wife CharLa and family, three aunts, Renee Kaiser and family, Amy Smith and family and Angela Dykstra and family, along with other relatives and many friends. Dylan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tom and Sharon Moore, and two cousins, Mikie Schneidler and Brittany Rex. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with Rev. Kevin Barker officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery located at the junction of Route O and Route H in Clarksburg. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to his son, Ryker Rex c/o the Rex Family.
