Dwight E. Whan, age 44, of Versailles, Missouri died Saturday morning, April 18, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 11, 1964, in Kirksville, Missouri, a son of Rodney and Delah Thrasher Whan. His parents survive in Knox City, Missouri.
Dwight was united in marriage to Pamela Fuehring on June 30, 1990, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, Missouri. Pam survives at their home.
Dwight retired as a soil conservationist with the United States Department of Agriculture.
He was a faithful member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Versailles, serving as an Elder.
Dwight enjoyed the time he could spend hunting deer, turkey and quail.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three children, Ethan, Evan and Hannah Whan all of the home; a brother, David Whan of Knox City; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Mike Russell of Warrensburg, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Milton Bost of Illinois; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Dwight was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Bost.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 21, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Versailles with Pastor Erik Rottmann officiating. Interment wil be in the Oak Park Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, April 20, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
