Dorothy M. Boyce

October 26, 1924 — June 11, 2022

Dorothy Mae Boyce, 97, of Stover passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover, MO.

She was born October 6, 1924, in Hatten, MO, a daughter of Elmer Richard and Bertha (Brown) Teel.  In 1942 in St. Charles, MO, she married Clarence Boyce who preceded her in death on Sept 13, 1987.

Dorothy held various jobs throughout her lifetime such as nannying in her younger years and manufacturing jobs, eventually retiring from Mead Corp. in St. Joseph, MO. Dorothy and Clarence then retired to the Ozarks to enjoy nearby Branson, fishing the tri-lakes area, gardening, canning, and visiting with friends and family for several years to come. She then made the move to Stover, MO to be near her daughter, Delores Sparks and family.

Dorothy was an active member of the Stover United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the guild of the Golden Age Living Center.  She volunteered many hours to the residents of Golden Age Living Center before becoming a resident, herself, almost 3 years ago. She loved flowers, gardening, watching birds, baking cookies and being a social butterfly. Dorothy loved her family with all of her heart and spending time with them certainly brought her the most joy. She was full of life and positivity and had a spunky sense of humor that would lift any spirit. She will forever be missed but her light will continue to live in all of us who loved her dearly.
