Dorean Case

Dorean Case, age 88, of Stover, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Whileshire at Lakewood Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.

She was born June 18, 1928 in Florence, a daughter of Clarence Lee and Anna Wiecken Schroder. On September 21, 1947 at her parent’s home near Florence, she was united in marriage to Harold E. Case, who preceded her in death July 23, 2010.

She was a graduate of Stover High School.

Dorean was a homemaker, busy raising her three girls and creating a wonderful home for her family.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and watching the hummingbirds she fed.  She also was a cook at the Stover Lion’s Club and was known for her expertise in the kitchen there.

She was a faithful member of the Stover United Methodist Church, where she was instrumental in the establishment of the Prayer Shawl Ministry; along with assisting at the church dinners and various other functions at the church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially holiday celebrations and family reunions.

Dorean is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law,, Doris Case of Overland Park, Kansas, Karen Tollefson of Arlington, Texas, and Annette and Lee Pemberton IV of Raymore, MO; one sister, Waneta Dudley of Overland Park, Kansas; four grandsons, Chris Tollefson and wife Stephanie of Arlington, TX; Jared Tollefson and wife Rachel of Ft. Worth, Texas, Lee Pemberton V and wife Morgan of Jefferson City, MO; and Sean Pemberton of Palm Harbor, FL; four great grandchildren, Hunter and Madison Tollefson and Axel and Monroe Pemberton; with another great-grandson due in April; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Harold, she is preceded in death by one son-in-law, Mike Tollefson; two brothers, Milton and Richard Schroder; and two sisters, Laverna Zimmerschied and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Stover United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
