Donna Kay (Bader) Lorenz

October 31, 1956 — November 8, 2021

Donna Kay (Bader) Lorenz, 65, of Pilot Grove, MO, passed peacefully into the arms of God on November 8, 2021 in the company of her family at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, MO.

Donna was born October 31, 1956, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Boonville, MO. She was the daughter of Gene Eldon Scott and Mary Agnes (Heisler) Windsor. She married David Mitchell Lorenz of Pilot Grove on March 15, 1995.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, David; two sisters, Phyllis (David) Faucette and Doris (Tom) McMillan; and one brother, Leonard (Kim) Bader; her children, Shawn (Missy) Sleeper, Jennifer LaBoube, Jessica (Chris) Cottrell, and Karyn (Justin) Fenical; and her grandchildren, Hayden, Emma, Faith, Arianna, and Davyon Sleeper; Ashley, Remington and Brenden LaBoube; Drake, Phoenix, and Harper Cottrell; Avery and Baby Fenical; and Great Grandchild, Addy Maness.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Stella Johnson and infant brother, Dorsey Ray. As well as her father, Gene Eldon Scott and mother Mary Agnes (Heisler) Windsor.

Donna spent a good portion of her life as a child care provider. She provided at-home care for many years as her kids were growing up until purchasing and running the local daycare in Pilot Grove, MO, where she provided childcare for many local families. When she stepped away from the daycare, she took on the task of providing childcare and education for her grandbabies up until her passing. She was also a co-owner of Lorenz Electric and an active member on the Pilot Grove Cemetery Board.

Donna was a strong, hardworking, caring, and loving rock for her family. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren fiercely. She instilled her love and compassion into every life she touched. Donna loved to read, quilt, crochet, and study astronomy and genealogy. She loved to go for walks, go camping and on road trips with her husband and dog, Charlie. Donna was "my person" for each of her family members. She was a shoulder to cry on, a laugh when needed, and a problem solver. She will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Pilot Grove City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Pilot Grove City Cemetery Board Fund.

Funeral Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Pilot Grove.

"Fly high with grandma and the angels, Mom. We love you."
