Donna L. Hicks, age 72, of Stover, died early Saturday morning, June 6, 2009, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
She was born September 4, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of William And Eugenia Bailey Raybourn, who are both deceased.
She was united in marriage to Henry O. Hicks on July 17, 1953, in Kansas City.
Donna worked as a laundress for the Kansas State School for the Deaf for many years.
Her greatest enjoyment in life came from being a wife and mother. She truly loved being with, and taking care of her family.
She and Henry lived in the Kansas City area before moving to Stover twelve years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Henry O. Hicks, Sr., of the home; four sons, Henry O. Hicks, Jr. and wife Donna and Johnny Hicks all Sedalia; David Hicks and longtime companion Angie Colten of Bradleyville and Gary Hicks of Lansing, Kansas; one daughter, Sylvia Jean Manning and husband Ben of Ottawa, Kansas; one brother, John Raybourn of Bates City, one sister, Ann Graham of Fulton, also twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Services will be private. In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated. Inurnment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
