Donna Jean Godfrey

March 20, 1953 — April 28, 2019

Donna Jean Godfrey, 66, of Stover, passed away Sunday, April 28 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City due to complications after having a stroke. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family. Donna was an amazing woman to say the least. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, wife, mentor, and friend. Her love built the framework for many generations of family. She helped raise not only her children, but her grandchildren as well. She enjoyed watching everyone grow up around her, guided by her grace and love. Donna found luxury in the small things life had to offer. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, talking with friends and family, playing cards, and watching her favorite shows on tv. Most of all, she liked doing anything as a family, and she was always willing to try new things as long as it meant doing something together with those she loved. Donna touched the lives of everyone around her, and words cannot express how grand of a woman she was. Although her life on this earth may be over, she is beginning a new life in the glory of God’s Kingdom. Donna’s memory lives on in the hearts of her husband of forty-seven years, Jerry Godfrey, son Robert Godfrey [Katie Godfrey], daughter Kristy Thompson [Dale Thompson], two brothers, Melvin and Paul Parker, one sister, Judy Parker, and five grandchildren, Renae King [Phillip King], Breanna, Nicole, and Kayla Godfrey, and James Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Parker and Raymond Leonard Weaver, two sisters, Opal Burks and Jean Parker, and five brothers, Marvin, Larry, Lewis, Donny, and Robert Parker. Services will be held at Big Rock Church in Barnett, MO at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Donna Godfrey Family in care of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, PO Box 64, Stover, MO 65078.

The Touch of the Masters Hand
“Whenever your life is out of tune- And no melody soothes your soul, Look to the Master whose gentle touch will bless you and make you whole. Like an old violin with so little worth, A life may be far less than grand, but may be transformed in a moment you see, by the touch of of the masters hand.
