Dick Lee Ailor

Dickie "Dick" Ailor, age 73, of Otterville died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri.

Dick was born July 20, 1943 in Purdin, Missouri to Jesse and Louise Ailor. On July 22, 1963, Dick married Lora Isaacs who passed away in 2004.

After attending Chillicothe High School, Dick became a dairy farmer and enjoyed that endeavor for 30 years. He also worked for Plummer Tire in Chillicothe during that time. In the early 90's, he and Lora moved to Otterville where he worked for Jim's Landscaping in Sedalia until May of 1994 when the Otterville School district hired him as a custodian. He worked at the school for over 19 years until he retired in July of 2013.

Dick enjoyed tinkering on his farm and was a lover of animals, always having some that needed his care. He was a prankster and always got a kick out of playing practical jokes on co-workers and friends. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

Dick maintained membership in the First Baptist Church of Springhill, Missouri.

Preceding Dick in death were his parents, his wife and an infant son, Timothy.

Those surviving Dick are daughters Penny Kugler and her husband Steve of Tipton, Bridget Moore and her husband Brian of Mansfield; 8 grandchildren, Kara Brannam, Karla and Blake Kugler, Chance Watring, Trudy and Toby Capps, Ashlyn and Zoie Moore; sisters JoAnn Drye of Marshfield, Betty Snapp of Blue Springs and Shirley Hughes of Jamesport, Missouri.

A memorial service for Dick Lee Ailor will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Otterville R-VI Schools.

Memorials suggested to family to be used for Otterville School projects.
