Debbie Cline

April 18, 1959 — December 30, 2017

Debora Ann “Debbie” Cline, age 58, of Parkville, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the Kansas City Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 18, 1959, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Aubrey D. and Mayme Osborn Cline.

Debbie was a 1977 graduate of Jefferson City High School.  She received an Associate’s degree in Fashion Merchandising and a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.

As a young woman she worked for Scan America and later Lee Jean Company both in the Kansas City area.  At the time of her death she was employed with Weber Inc. in Kansas City; as a sales administrator.

Debbie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson City.  As a Christian she led a life of love for people and all of God’s creatures.  She obtained certification as an ordained minister through the Unity Church and had a strong desire to learn other religious practices and to meet people of various faiths.

She was a devoted animal lover and gifted artisan, making lamp work beads and jewelry.

Survivors include her mother, Mayme Cline of Jefferson City; her sister, Karen Cline Burgess of Jefferson City; longtime companion, George Sol Simms of Overland Park, Kansas; a nephew, Quentin Burgess of Jefferson City, a niece, Jessica Burgess of Columbia, along with other relatives and many friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Dr. Doyle Sager officiating.  Interment will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas City Hospice House or the Cline Family.
