David E. Reed

David Edward Reed, 73, of Tipton, MO, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the home of his daughter in Peculiar, surrounded by family and love.

He was born August 14, 1951, in Latham, MO, to Edward and Maxine Reed, who instilled in him the values of faith, kindness, and hard work that defined his life.

David was a natural storyteller, known for his quick wit, laugh, and bottomless collection of jokes. He never met a stranger and found joy in making people laugh. His greatest passion was sharing the love of Jesus-gently, honestly, and often hilariously.

A lifelong Ford enthusiast, David proudly built and maintained the largest Ford farm toy collection in America. He was a familiar face at farm toy shows in the Midwest, where he was always ready to trade, talk tractors, and make new friends.

On April 5, 1975, he married the love of his life, Patsy Ann Truman, at FBC Tipton. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, laughter, and community. Patsy preceded him in death in April 2024.

David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and John, of Peculiar, and his three cherished grandchildren, Logan, William, and Bentley.

He is also survived by his niece Kellee Wood and nephew Keenan Wood, children of his beloved sister, Vicci Wood, who preceded him in death, as well as their father, William Wood. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Dan Latham and niece Susie Latham, and is survived by their parents, Sue and Richard Latham.

A visitation to celebrate David’s life will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at FBC Tipton, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Tipton Masonic Cemetery at a later date, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Patsy. Memorial may be given to First Baptist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Page-Dady Funeral Home.

David’s love for God, his gift of laughter, and his deep devotion to family will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
