Darrell J. Knedgen

Darrell James Knedgen, age 92, of Pilot Grove, MO, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

Darrell was born May 31, 1931, in Clear Creek, Missouri, a son of Edward and Frances (Larm) Knedgen. He married the love of his life, Margie Ann Meyers on July 2, 1956 in Sedalia.  

Before they were married, Darrell served in the U.S. Army in Japan. He was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He always said that when he was gone, "The varmints would be safe." Above all, he dearly loved his family. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Margie, survivors include two daughters, Joyce Lorenz (Tony) and Karen Wesselman (Mike); son-in-law, Mike Burke, all of Pilot Grove; ten grandchildren, Michelle Wolfe (Brian), Jamie Burke, Kara Klein (Kevin), Brent Lorenz (Kayla), Kyle Lorenz (Katelyn), Ryan Lorenz (Clarissa), Amber Schuster (Evan), Chelsea Rice (Jake), Heather Acton (Taylor), and Mikala Wesselman (Brandon); sixteen great-grandchildren and counting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Delores Burke; one brother, Vernon Knedgen; and two sisters, Bonnie Siegel and Dorrine Mazur.

Prayers of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:45 a.m. Monday, March 25th, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pilot Grove followed by visitation until Mass time at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be held at a later date at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Clear Creek, MO.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph School/Church, and St. Jude.
