Cletus Francis John Kraxberger

Cletus "Clet" Francis John Kraxberger, 81, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Heritage Healthcare Center.
Cletus was born in Stover, Missouri on January 3, 1927, the son of Francis John and Luenda (Hagadorn) Kraxberger. He graduated from Stover High School in 1945. He was a resident of Chanute since 2001.
He was united in marriage to Helen "Jo" Sharp on February 24, 1952 in Humboldt, Kansas. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2000.
He served his country as a Quartermaster in the United States Army during WWII.
Cletus was a Vice President and security officer for Fidelity State Bank in Dodge City, Kansas.
He was a member of the Stover United Methodist Church, Stover Lions Club, and the Dodge City BSA Leadership. He received the Silver Beaver Award.
Cletus is survived by a son, Kenneth Lynn Kraxberger and his wife Karen of Chanute; two grandchildren, Hannah and Benjamin Kraxberger of Chanute, and a brother-in-law, Bob Sharp of Humboldt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jo; a son, Steve Alan Kraxberger; and a brother, Nathanel Kraxberger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 29, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.
Services will be held in Stover, Missouri on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stover United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Cutler officiting. Inurnment will follow at the Stover Cemetery on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Stover United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to an Education Fund for his Grandchildren or the Stover United Methodist Church. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
