Clara Emma Fischer

Clara Emma Fischer, age 94, of Stover, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

She was born May 16, 1913, in Berriton, Illinois, a daughter of Fred and Sophia Eggert Radloff. Clara was baptized June 1,1913, and confirmed April 10, 1927, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dundee, Illinois. The confirmation verse chosen was John 15:5, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

On September 19, 1929, she was united in marriage to Raymond Fischer who preceded her in death December 19, 1966.

She worked with her husband on their farm, raising cattle and turkeys, for fifteen years raising turkeys for Cargill.

Clara enjoyed being on the farm where she could work in the yard and raise her flowers. She also enjoyed staying busy painting.

She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover, faithfully attending as long as her health allowed.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Elaine Brown and husband Bill of Mora; one daughter-in-law, Violet Fischer Close of Stover; five grandchildren, Ellen Goosen, Cindy Heimsoth, Fred Fischer, Beverly Graham and Sharon Brooks, ten great grandchildren, three great-great granddaughters, also other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Fischer, two brothers, Elmer and Fred Radloff, two half-brothers, Henry and Ernest Radloff, and four half-sisters, Estella Reko, Martha Givens, Erna Witt and Marie Rudsinski.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 3, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Cecil Murdock officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 2, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or the St. Paul Lutheran School.
