Charlene Lovejoy

Charlene K. Lovejoy, age 74, of rural Versailles, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018, at University Hospital in Columbia.

She was born November 28, 1944, in Kansas City, a daughter of Fred and Inez Walker Simpson.  Charlene was united in marriage to Garnet “Gary” Lovejoy on February 1, 1968 in Independence.  Gary preceded her in death January 8, 2002.

Charlene was a homemaker, busy raising her children.  In later years she enjoyed working on craft projects and adding to her M & M collection.  She was a homebody, who enjoyed her family and for several years cared for her companion Jack Francis.

Survivors include five children, Orville Eissler, Michael Eissler, Beth Eissler Haley, Gary C. Lovejoy and Dawna Lovejoy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Orville Miller and companion, Jack Francis.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated.  No formal services are planned at this time.
