Celeste J. Stalker

August 24, 1943 — June 6, 2009

Celeste JoAnne Stalker, age 65, of Stover, died Saturday morning, June 6, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born August 24, 1943, in Garrard, Kansas a daughter of Richard Elmore and Dolly Maxine Crutcher. In December of 1960, she married Lee Warren "L.W." Stalker at the Jackson County Court House. L.W. survives at their home.
Celeste was a graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was a homemaker, busy raising her family. L.W., Celeste and their children began coming to the Stover area in the 1960's to spend their weekends away from the city. In 1989 they moved from Kansas City and made their weekend retreat, a permanent home. After moving to Stover, Celeste worked at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother and stepfather, Dolly Maxine and William Albert Wilson of Blue Springs; five children, Rebecca Stalker of Stover; Joseph Stalker and wife Erica of Independence; John Stalker and wife Laura of Oak Grove; Warren Stalker and wife Brandi of Dearborn and James Stalker of Chicago, Illiniois; one brother, Richard Holler and wife Annie of Blue Springs; three sisters, Paula Cosentino and husband Dante of Lee's Summit; Kristi L'Ecuyer and husband Daryl of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Keitha Scheib and husband Larry of Nevada; also, 12 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Celeste was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Dudley Holler.
In keeping with her wishes, Celeste was cremated. A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 11, at the West Union Baptist Church, Highway 5 south of Versailles, with Rev. Rod Campbell officiating.
