Carmen Lea Marler, 87, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove.

She was born on August 17, 1939, in Flat River, Missouri, a daughter of Cletus and Grace (Lewis) Hutson.

Carmen devoted her professional career to the banking industry, where she served as a bank manager. She was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the kindness she extended to both her customers and coworkers.

In 1960, Carmen was united in marriage to Ronald Lowell Marler. They shared many cherished years together until his passing on February 19, 1980.

A woman of strong faith, Carmen was a member of both Ellisville Ballwin Baptist Church and Kirkwood Baptist Church. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a creative spirit. She especially loved arts and crafts, with wreath making being one of her favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed reading a good book and spending time camping, where she appreciated the beauty and tranquility of the outdoors. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and found them to be the biggest joy in her life.

Survivors include two daughters Gina Marler and Kelly Marler Francis; two grandchildren, Allea Francis and Jacob Francis; one sister, Donna Eden-Southern; two nephews, Stan Eden and John Eden; and one cousin, Gary McLeod.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lowell Marler, and her parents, Cletus and Grace Hutson.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood, MO.
