Carla Kay Potter

Carla Kay Potter, 76, of Springfield, MO, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her home.

She was born May 25, 1944 in Franklin, KY, a daughter of Carl and Margaret Wehmeir. On August 20, 1966 at the First Baptist Church in Tipton she married John Raymond Potter, who survives of the home.

Carla was a graduate of the Tipton High School Class of 1962. She went on to get her bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, now known as University of Central Missouri. Carla worked as a teacher for 32 years teaching most of her career in the Rogersville School District. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Springfield and the ADK Teachers Sorority.

In addition to her husband John of 54 years survivors include one daughter, Dawn Mayo (Rick) of Bois D’Arc, MO; two granddaughters, Hunter, and McKenzie Mayo; one sister, Pat Carpenter (Dewey) of Hoschton, GA.

Carla was preceded in death by both of her parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Green Grove Baptist Church near Latham, MO.

Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.
