Carl Long

Carl Long, age 78 of Pilot Grove, Missouri, died at home Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018.

One of 14 children, Carl was born July 30, 1939 to Roy and Jimmie Leona Long in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Carl worked as a machinest for AgCo in Independence, Missouri retiring in 2001. He and his wife Diana moved to Pilot Grove that year also and have enjoyed retirement in a more rural environment. Carl was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. He was talented at woodworking and loved watching any and all kinds of sports on television. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl was a man of few words and when he spoke, everybody listened.

Preceding Carl in death were his parents and a number of siblings.

Those surviving Carl are his wife Diana Lea of the home; sons Scott Long of Pilot Grove and Wayne Long of Independence, Missouri; daughters Cynthia Long of New Franklin, Missouri and Amy Long and fiance Jordan Williams of Bunceton, Missouri; brothers Steve and Don; sisters Billie Kay and Mildred; 8 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Carl Long will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the service in Pleasant Green Cemetery near Pilot Grove, Missouri
