Bruce Burkhart

Bruce Burkhart, age 61, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
It was on the 13th day of February in 1962 that Loyde and Mary (Miller) Burkhart welcomed their son, Bruce, into their home in Piper, Kansas.
Being outdoors is where Bruce found his joy. His favorite pass time was fishing; but he also enjoyed hunting, arrowhead hunting, camping, and mushroom hunting. The thing that Bruce enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends and helping people any way that he could.
Bruce was a hard worker, helping his brother, Phillip with his lawn care business and he also worked as a cook for various places.
Left to carry on his legacy are his siblings, Ginny Reighard of Independence, Elizabeth Burkhart, and Phillip Burkhart both of Versailles; nieces and nephews, Angel Hood, Ty Burkhart, Lisa Burkhart, Michelle Sledd, Jason Hubbard, Randi Rarick, and Joshua Burkhart; along with several great nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Elizabeth Scaggs, Rex Scaggs, John Scaggs, and Kenneth Burkhart.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated.
There will be a lakeside gathering for Bruce on September 24, 2023, at the HaHa Tonka State Park shelter by the spring from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
