Boyd Arthur Yontz

October 21, 1978 — September 12, 2025

Tipton

Boyd Arthur Yontz, 46, of Tipton, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home.

He was born on October 21, 1978, in Jefferson City, MO, a son of Frank Arthur and Dala Darlene (Beeman) Yontz.

Boyd attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School for his early education and graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1997. Continuing his education, he earned an associate’s degree from SFCC as well as degrees in PLC and Industrial Electricity from State Tech in Linn, MO.

Boyd built his career, working mostly for two outstanding companies, where he enjoyed it very much. He spent 17 years in the parts department at John Deere in Tipton, where his dedicated service to customers was greatly appreciated by co-workers and local farmers. Later, Boyd applied his electrical and drafting skills as a panel shop builder at Martin Energy. His attention to detail and good clean work was deeply valued, and his product is across North America, Australia, and Puerto Rico.

Boyd was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton. He had an empathic heart for animals as well as people. He spent time volunteering at the Jefferson City Animal Shelter where he got his beloved cat Ninja.

As a child Boyd earned a black belt in Taekwondo and several trophies from tournaments. He had a wide range of interests and creative talents, along with a passion for geology and paleontology all the way back to his childhood. Through the years he built an extensive baseball card and comic book collection. He had a love for music and movies, and an appreciation for poetry. He enjoyed putting puzzles together, as well as small assembly projects. Gifted with his hands, Boyd created beautiful wire-wrapped jewelry, metal art sculptures, and paintings, each a reflection of his creativity and imagination.

Above all, Boyd treasured time with his family. Whether it was time at his parents, simply having coffee or watching football, taking part in family adventures, visiting antique stores with his mom, or attending sporting events for his niece, those moments were his greatest joy.

Survivors include his parents Frank and Dala Yontz; one sister, Yolanda Allison (Neal); one niece, Nina; one cat, Ninja, all of Tipton, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur (Babe) and Ruth Yontz; maternal grandparents, Maynard and Melva Beeman.
