Bob A. Cook

August 2, 1937 — January 6, 2009

Robert Allen "Bob" Cook age 71 of Gravois Mills, Missouri died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.
He was born August 2, 1937, near Rockport, Missouri a son of Cleo and Carrie Thornton Cook. On January 30, 1956, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, Bob married Karolyn "Kay" Watts.
He was chief operator of the Four J Farm in Gravois Mills. Bob ran the day to day operation of the cattle and turkey farm for 33 years, retiring in 2001 when his health began to fail him.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions and visiting with family and friends. Bob spent the last few years watching a family of Bald Eagles build a nest and rear their young in the field near his home.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karolyn of the home; his mother, Carrie Grebe of Stover, two sons, John Cook and wife Brenda of Stover and Steve Cook of Belton; three grandchildren, Punkie Stevenson and husband Joe of Stover; and Jonathan and Jacob Cook of Belton; two great grandchildren, Baylie Jo and Jett Allen Stevenson of Stover; two brothers, Jim Cook and wife Dorthy of Rockport and Cecil "Bud" Cook and wife Daisy of Stover; one sister, Nancy Cable of Stover; his mother-in-law, Roena Watts of Laurie; also several nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Cleo Cook, his stepfather, Bill Grebe, one granddaughter, Jessica Cook and a nephew, Gary Cook.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 9, at the Stover Cemetery with Rev. Travis Smith officiating. Max Middleton, Ed Webb, Don Nichols, Norman Dills, Joe Stevenson, Darrell Walden, Jim Green, Kurt Heisler and Matt Smith will serve as honorary casket bearers. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be given to the Bob Cook memorial fund.
