Billy Eugene Richardson, Sr.

Billy Eugene Richardson, Sr., 89, of Pilot Grove, MO, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

He was born on March 13, 1937, in Bevier, Missouri, a son of Clarence Delbert "Dee" and Opal Audean (Ealy) Richardson. On April 14, 1961, in Bevier, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Twyman. Together they shared more than 61 years of marriage before Carolyn preceded him in death on June 8, 2022.

Billy was a proud 1955 graduate of Bevier High School. Shortly after graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1959. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service. He served as a route carrier in Columbia, Missouri, before later becoming the Postmaster of the Pilot Grove Post Office, where he faithfully served until his retirement.

A proud veteran, Billy was a member of American Legion Thomas-Tuttle Post #52 in Boonville, Missouri. In his spare time, he found great satisfaction in woodworking and gardening, always taking pride in creating things with his hands and tending to his yard. However, nothing brought him greater enjoyment than spending time on the water crappie fishing. Whether fishing with family or friends, those quiet days outdoors became some of his most treasured moments.

Survivors include three children, Tamera Friedrich (Danny) of Boonville, Billy Richardson, Jr (Tammy) of Pilot Grove, and Kim Hill (Bryan) of Pilot Grove; five grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Jared, Jamie, and Nikole; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild (with one on the way); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife Carolyn; he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Richardson; and one sister, Peggy McGhee.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Pilot Grove. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Pilot Grove City Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Jayden Davis, RyLee Davis, Levi Martin, Cade Martin, Lyrick Schmidt, Logan Mullett, Levi Martin, James Vollmer, Jared Mullett and Drew Felten. Honorary Pallbearers will be Abel Felten, Theodore Felten, Benjamin Felten, Elijah Davis, and Trevor Hill.
