Billy Pat McNeal, Jr.

Billy Pat McNeal, Jr., 64, of Syracuse, passed away, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his home.

He was born on December 12, 1960, in St. Louis, MO, a son of Billy Pat, Sr. and Lois Ann (Kendrick) McNeal. On November 6, 1981, at Mt. Olive Church in Florence he married Rita Lewis who survives of the home.

Billy worked many years in Sedalia and spent lots of hours on his farm raising both cattle and turkeys. He attended Fortuna Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.

Billy enjoyed life's simple pleasures-playing cards, cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs, and never hesitating to share his unsolicited advice. Known as a very big talker, he could light up any room with his voice and presence, often leaving others smiling, laughing, or shaking their heads with amusement.

Above all, Billy cherished his family. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. Family dinners and gatherings held a special place in his heart, as he treasured those moments of togetherness, storytelling, and laughter.

Survivors include his wife Rita of 43 years; two children, Melanie Rich of Columbia, MO, Patrick John McNeal (Heather) of Syracuse, MO; one brother, Russell McNeal (Michelle) of Syracuse, MO; five grandchildren, Aiyana and Emery June Rich, Peyton, Jace, and Leah McNeal; and his large extended family.

Billy was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Fortuna Baptist Church. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Fortuna Baptist Church (Be on time per Bill) with burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery near Syracuse, MO, (please dress casual for the visitation and service). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Olive Branch Church. Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton.
