Billy Joe Homan, age 82, of Syracuse, Missouri passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at his home.

Billy was born November 10, 1938, to Henry D. and Lee Anna (Sanders) Homan in Otterville, Missouri.

November 30, 1963, he married Linda K. Combs. They were married 56 years. Billy and Linda made their home in Tipton for a short time and then moved to Syracuse. Billy and Linda were blessed with two sons, Barry and Charley.

Billy served his country honorably in the US Army from 1961 to 1963. He worked for the Fischer Pool Table Company for nearly 20 years and then retired from the Boonville Correctional Center after over 20 years of service. Billy enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and working in the garden. He also liked to work cattle. Billy loved family gatherings and enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch and Rook. He was a deacon of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served on the cemetery committee.

Preceding Billy in death were his parents, Henry D. and Lee Anna Homan; wife, Linda Kathryn Homan; brother, David Homan; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Combs and Jake Ramey.

Surviving Billy are his two sons, Barry J. Homan (Michelle) and Charley D. Homan, both of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Barry Jo Wayne Homan of Syracuse, Corban Jo Wayne Homan and Dakota Jo Lynn Homan, both of Fulton; two sisters, Judy (Ramey) Martensen (Bill) of Syracuse and Mae Stemberger (Ray) of Florence; two brother-in laws, Ray Combs (Mary Ruth) of Sedalia and Jack Combs (Pam) of Neosho; and two sisters-in-laws, Juanita Combs of Mississippi and Mary E. (Homan) Schroer of Tipton.

Funeral Services be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Florence, MO with Pastors Bill Johnson and Bill Martensen, officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at the Church.

Pallbearers are Danny Stemberger, Kenneth Combs, Parry Ramey, Neal Combs, Ryan Combs, and Bradley Homan.

Honorary Pallbearers are Lloyd Paxton, Billy Dee Homan, Hugh Homan, Mark Ramey, Kevin Combs, and John Brodersen.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Services have been entrusted in the care of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton, MO.
