Bill Carney, age 71, a lifelong resident of Russellville, passed away Sunday morning, August 26, 2007, at his home. He was born October 28, 1935, near Enon, a son of Charles W. and Ethel Scott Carney. On July 28, 1957, he married Lois Galliher in the High Point Baptist Church parsonage. Lois survives at their home. He was a 1953 graduate of Russellville High School. Bill was a farmer in the Russellville community his entire life and for many years owned and operated a lime and fertilizer business from his farm. He had worked at the Alvin Weber Feed Store, drove the gas truck for MFA in Russellville, and for many years was a school bus driver for the Russellville school district. He was a member of the Corticelli Baptist Church west of Russellville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Randy Carney, Chuck Carney and Linda Everts and fiancé Philip Lenk all of Russellville; one sister, Judith Gadd and husband Bob of Overland Park, Kansas, four granddaughters, Jennifer Karnes and husband Matt of Columbia; Melissa Carney of San Antonio, Texas; Amanda Higginbotham of Centertown and Ashley Higginbotham of Russellville; also, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Donna Ilene Carney. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 30, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Paul Young and Rev. Ryan Stiffler officiating. Burial will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 29, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Enloe Cemetery or the American Heart Association.
