Beulah Mae Meade, age 76, of the Ivy Bend community south of Stover, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007, at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, following a sudden illness.
She was born September 8, 1930, in Letcher County, Kentucky, the only daughter of Addie and Edna Church Polly. On October 7, 1945, in Letcher County, Beulah married John D. Meade and he preceded her in death December 3, 1999.
She worked as a waitress for many years. In 1988, John and Beulah moved from Cincinnati, Ohio and made Ivy Bend their home.
Beulah was active in the Ivy Bend Youth Center, the Open Arms Church and a founder of the Ivy Bend Fest.
Survivors include three children, Marlene Woods and husband Delbert, Marcia Davis and husband Chuck and Douglas G. Meade all of Ivy Bend; eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, also other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three children, John Riley Meade, Eddie Daniel Meade, and Barbara Faye Meade, four brothers, Lester J. Polly, Willie Ralph Polly, Dave L. Polly and Teddy B. Polly, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 30, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 30, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
