Betty Jean Hirschvogel

Betty Jean Hirschvogel, age 76, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born August 12, 1932, at her parents home in Morgan County, a daughter of Norman Ralph and Gurthie Jones Wall.
On May 26, 1951, in Russellville, she married Cletus Hirschvogel, who preceded her in death November 2, 2007.
Betty was a homemaker. She worked at House of Bargains for many years as a clothing's buyer, prior to opening her own business. In 1981, she opened Betty Jean's Fabrics and operated it out of her home until she retired in 1996. She made many weddings memorable.
Betty was a 4-H Leader when her daughters were young. She was also voted a lifetime member of the Apache Flats and St. Martins Business Association.
She enjoyed growing flowers in her yard. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. Betty was loved by all who knew her and was always there for anyone who needed help. She touched many lives and was truly an exceptional person. She was one of the greatest examples of kindness and compassion in this world and her family will carry that on in her memory.
Betty is survived by one son, Lanny Hirschvogel of Tuscumbia; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Terry and Clifford Miller of Centertown; Peggy Hart of Olathe, Kansas and Linda and Steve Dappen of Holts Summit; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph Jr., and Sook, Wall of Sierra Vista, Arizona and James "Roy" and Monika Wall of Eldon; one sister, Thelma Emmerich of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Mary Wall of Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Erin (Doug) Stuckenschneider, Mandy (Jason) Hamburg, Missi Gaggens, Andrew (Ashley) Hart, Matt Miller, Adam Gaggens and fiancee Kelly Sparks, seven great grandchildren, Megan Ross, Ethan, Ross, Mikayla Gaggens, Emma Stuckenschneider, Riley Stuckenschneider, Haylie Gaggens and Anthony Spears, her beloved dog Snickers, also other relatives and many other friends that considered her their Mom.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Joe Hart, a brother, Raymond Wall and her dog Ladybug.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 9, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community Hospices of America 2418 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
