Bernard Andrew “Benny” Hainen, 78, of Tipton, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.
He was born August 6, 1947, in Boonville, the son of Bernard Anthony and Mary Ellen (Schibi) Hainen.
As a young man, Benny was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1965 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. He served in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1973 during the Vietnam War.
On December 27, 1969, he was united in marriage to Glenda L. Dale at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton.
At the age of 22, in 1970, Benny established Benny Hainen Ford. He is on record as the youngest Ford dealer/owner in the United States. Continuous ownership for the past 56 years earned many awards from the Ford Motor Company.
Benny proudly lived on the same land that had been in his family for five generations after his ancestors were originally sponsored by St. Andrew Catholic Church to settle in the area. Land and farming were very special to him, and he especially loved raising cattle. One of his favorite traditions was taking his late father to visit the farm, every Sunday, a time they both treasured.
Benny was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he generously supported the church's mission, especially during its recent remodel. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. His faith was reflected in his generosity to others.
Benny and Glenda are deeply committed to giving back to the community they love. Their generosity in the community included Tipton High School, Helias High School, the Tipton Nutrition Center, and the Veterans Memorial at Tipton City Park, among others.
Over the years, he was actively involved in many community organizations, including the Jaycees, Tipton Farmers and Sportsmens Club, Tipton Country Club, Tipton Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Edgar Cole Post 304, and the Industrial Development Committee.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Glenda, of the home; six children, Julie Oliver (Tyler) of Kansas City, Anikka Corley (Chris) of Tipton, Sabrina Rogers (Clint) of Lee's Summit, Kristen Ricciardelli (Charlie) of Falls Church, Virginia, Lance Hainen of Columbia, and Drew Hainen (Maddie) of Tipton; 14 grandchildren, Kennedy Oliver, Wyatt Oliver, Nikolas Fowler-Hainen, Payton Corley, Christopher Corley, Liam Corley, Andy Rogers, Aubrey Zhogan (Daniel), Adam Rogers, Lillia Ricciardelli, Olivia Weaver, Lucas Weaver, Gabriel Weaver, and Silas Weaver; one great-grandson, Mason Henry Fowler; two sisters, Joyce Crandon and Donna Meiners (Don); and one brother, Greg Hainen.
