Austin Taylor Rasa, 31, of Otterville, passed away early Saturday, November 6, 2021, near Otterville, as a result of an auto accident.
Born November 28, 1989, in Columbia, he was one of three children of Roy A. Rasa and Bobi Jo (Griblin) Gaertner.
Austin was a 2008 graduate of Morgan County High School in Stover.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Afghanistan.
Austin attended tech school and was a heavy equipment operator for B&P Excavating. He was a member of the Union, Local 101.
Austin loved his kids more than anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on things. There was a never a dull moment with him and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Ashley; three children, Blaise, Jocelynn and Peyton Rasa; his father and stepmother, Roy and Leanne Rasa, of Mora; his mother and stepfather, Bobi Jo and Gabriel Gaertner, of Inman, SC; his brother, Justin Rasa (Kelsey), of Boonville; his sister, Brittany Adams (Joe), of Sedalia; paternal grandmother, Eileen Rasa, of Mora; maternal grandparents, Robert and Patti Griblin, of Butler; two step-sisters, Sonya Thomas, of Otterville, and Megan Craig (Noah), of Cole Camp; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Orva Rasa.
A celebration of Austin's life will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Stover Community Center.
Memorials are suggested to Ashley Rasa for the benefit of Austin’s kids.
Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Otterville.
