Arthur Henry Grupe

Arthur Henry Grupe, age 87, of Stover, died Monday night, June 16, 2008, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
He was born December 24, 1920, in Florence, a son of George Edwin and Anna Sophia Schroder Grupe. He was baptized at the Florence United Methodist Church.
On March 7, 1948, at the church parsonage in Stover, Arthur was united in marriage to Blanche Stucker and she survives at their home.
He was an Army veteran, serving his country during World War II from October 16, 1942 until December 7, 1945, in Europe.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Stover area.
Arthur was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pyrmont following his marriage. He remained an active and faithful member of the church, at one time serving as church treasurer and as an elder.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, LaVera and Jim Miller of Stover; Geraldine "Geri" and Larry Oehrke of Stover and Joyce and Kenny Raps of Smithton; a brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Alice Grupe of Sedalia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Orva Rasa of Mora and Margaret and Melvin Ehlers of Cole Camp; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Grupe of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Chris, Marilyn, Jamie, Jeff, Jennie and Michelle, eight great grandchildren, Matthew, Dylan, Alivia, Alexis, Holly, Blake, Dominic and Landen, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Elroy Grupe, a son-in-law, Jeff Menning, a granddaughter, Melissa Kay Miller, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Evelyn Grupe.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 19, at the Trinity Lutheran Church-Pyrmont with Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Interment, with military funeral honors, will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery-Pyrmont.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 18, at the new Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church-Pyrmont.
