Anthony Renee Gutierrez

Anthony Renee Gutierrez, age 77 of Syracuse, Missouri passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri surrounded by his family.

Tony was born August 22, 1939 to James Joseph and Elizabeth Sheila Gutierrez in St. Louis, Missouri. He was one of five children.

In his younger years, Tony worked as a musician and continued to love to play his guitar and sing throughout his life. He was especially fond of songs Elvis performed. He also worked in factories and his last employer before retirement was Nordyne.

Tony and Mary Alice Flieger were married in 1969 and have raised a family of three sons who have all made their homes in the Syracuse, Tipton area.

A few of his favorite pastimes were painting still lifes and portraits, fishing and was an expert mushroom hunter. He was a big coffee drinker and his favorite food was a pork chop sandwich.

He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Anthony was preceded in death by his Mother and brothers Eddie, Robert and Gary Massie.

He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; father James Joseph, age 99 of St. Louis, Missouri; sons Anthony R. Gutierrez, II and his wife Christina of Syracuse, Don R. Gutierrez and his wife Angie of Syracuse, Scott M. Gutierrez and his wife Jessica of Tipton; granddaughters Barbie Van Horne and her husband Michael, Diana, Elizabeth, Alicia, Hannah, Crystal and Kimberly Gutierrez; grandsons Bobby and Michael Gutierrez; great grandson Harrison Van Horne; sister Yolanda Ochoa and her husband Sal of Granite City, Illinois.

Funeral services for Anthony Renee Gutierrez will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, December 2, 2016 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Olive Branch Cemetery, Syracuse, Missouri
