Versailles

Anthony Francis "Tony" Gambino passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2026, beside his beloved wife, Rebecca. Cancer came quickly and Tony passed in his sleep surrounded by love.

Tony was born on March 19, 1948, in New York City, New York. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, where he worked as a supply negotiator and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Following his military service, Tony dedicated 30 years of his life to working as an insurance broker, building lasting relationships and earning the trust of those he served. On September 18, 1992, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ballard who survives of the home.

Tony was a proud member of the American Pool Players Association and found great enjoyment in the camaraderie the organization provided. Alongside his wife, he owned and operated Tony G's Pizza and Pub, a place where friends and community gathered and where Tony's welcoming spirit was always evident.

In his free time, Tony especially enjoyed motorcycle rides with Rebecca, creating many cherished memories together on the open road.

Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence touched the lives of so many. He was truly one of a kind - the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and he had it. His generosity, loyalty, strength, and heart left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Tony will be remembered for his deep love of family, his unwavering support for those around him, and the way he made people feel cared for, protected, and welcomed. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness and selflessness.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Rebecca Ballard, along with family who proceeded him in death: Barney Gambino Sr., Albertina "Birdie" Gambino, John Gambino, Theresa Gambino, Barney Gambino Jr.

Siblings: Joseph Gambino, Bernadette Gambino Rochelle, Maryanne Gambino Goldman, Michael Gambino, Stephen Gambino, and Rosemary Gambino DiGioia.

Children and grandchildren: Angela Gambino, Mallorie and Michael Selvage. Melissa Gambino, Tamzin and Soren Osborne. Tony Gambino II, Talen Lauer and Olive Gambino.

Also, to the many friends who will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love they shared with Tony and Mattie.

Though deeply missed, Tony's spirit and the love he gave so freely will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of life will be held later this summer at Tony G's Pizza and Pub in Gravois Mills.
