Aloysius Durbin, Jr.

Aloysius "Al" Durbin, Jr., age 64, of Lohman, Missouri died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.
He was born September 7, 1944, in Morrisonville, Illinois, a son of Aloysius Sr., and Mary Gladys Norris Durbin, both deceased.
Al married Velma Minard, June 6, 1987, in Moberly, Missouri and she survives at their home.
He was a railroad mechanic for the N & W. Railroad in Moberly and later owned and operated a welding and machine shop.
Al was a faithful and active member of the Russellville United Methodist Church, in Russellville, Missouri where he served as an usher. He volunteered many hours working on maintenance and improvements at the church.
Al enjoyed restoring tractors, traveling with his wife, tinkering on one of his many projects, sitting at the coffee shop with his friends and the company of his cat, Lucky. He especially enjoyed the time he could spend with his grandchildren.
He is also survived by one son, Robert Baughman of Marshall, Missouri; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Phillip Burkhart, Versailles, Missouri and Carolyn and Scott Hall, California, Missouri; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Judy Durbin and Russell and Pat Durbin all of Taylorville, Illinois; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Ray Gensler, Taylorville and Eloise and Howard Davis, Kincaid, Illinois; five grandchildren, Katie, Hallie and Sydnie Hall and Angel and Ty Burkhart also other relatives and many friends.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 15, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Jeannie Martin Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family will also receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 17, at the Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home, 304 Carlin, Morrisonville, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 18, at the Mottitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Inurnment will follow in the St. Maurice Cemetery in Morrisonville, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Russellville UMC Building Fund.
