Alma Marie Rehmer Fischer

Alma M. Rehmer Fischer, age 90, of Florence, died Monday, September 22, 2008, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
She was born June 30, 1918, in Morgan County, a daughter of Ernest and Anna Klein Rasa. She married Amos Rehmer November 23, 1939, at Pyrmont and he preceded her in death April 16, 1979. She married Henry Fischer July 16, 1983, at St. John United Church of Christ in Florence, and he preceded her in death February 28, 2005.
For many years Alma was head cook at the Florence Public School, before spending twelve years as head cook of the Morgan Co. R-I school district in Stover. She later worked for 18 years at the Tipton Pants Factory. Before retiring, Alma was a cook for the Golden Age Living Center and Bristol Manor, both in Stover.
She was a faithful and active member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Florence, where she belonged to the Quilting Grannies. In her early years she enjoyed crocheting, lately she kept busy doing word search puzzles. Her great joy came from the time she could spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alma is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Donna Rae Rehmer of Florence and a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Richard Dittmer, of Florence; a brother and sister in law, Orva and Eileen Rasa, Mora; five grandchildren, Kevin and wife Bobbi Dittmer, Eric and wife Mindy Rehmer and Angela and husband Jeff Holem, also five great grandchildren, Kylee and Abby Dittmer, Luke and Erika Rehmer and Lane Holem, a stepson, Myron Fischer Sr., and wife Mildred of Boonville; a step daughter, Karen Young of Stover; eight step grandchildren, sixteen step great grandchildren, three step great-great grandchildren, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Oehrke and Minnie Kanenbley and a grandson, Brian Rehmer.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thurs., Sept. 25, at St. John UCC, Florence with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wed., Sept. 24, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. Contributions are suggested to St. John UCC.
