Alice Jones

Alice Jones, age 81, of Stover, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born March 12, 1927, in Adams County, Colorado, a daughter of Joseph and Alta Broska Wray. On December 21, 1947, she married Leo Jones and he preceded her in death December 9, 2007.
Mrs. Jones taught in the Morgan County R-I school district in Stover. She then taught at Gainsborough, Saskatchewan Canada and retired from Special Education department with the Glasgow public school in 1974.
Until just a few years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Jones were custom harvesters, known as "Mergie and Jake" working the harvest from Texas to Canada.
She was a member of the Stover United Methodist Church in Stover. She enjoyed tending to her flowers in her yard and watching birds.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, Gary Leo Jones of Katy, Texas and Cary Gene Jones and his wife Linda of Springfield; one sister, Betty Curnutt of Knob Noster; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Alan Wray Jones and one brother, Marvin Eugene Wray.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, at the Stover United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, at the Stover United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Stover United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
