Alan Russell

Alan Harold Russell, age 58, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born April 22, 1958, in Farmington the youngest child of Ewing and Marguerite Matheis Russell.
Alan was a 1976 graduate of Central High School in Flat River.
He worked maintenance for various warehouses before an illness forced him to retire.
He resided on the family farm near Russellville, where he enjoyed being on the home place. Alan had a special way with most animals and they took an instant liking to him. As a young man he enjoyed drag racing, and still liked tinkering with cars in later years.
He had a kind heart and was willing to do anything for anyone he cared about. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, and like his dad he ended every visit with "adios."
Survivors include his five siblings, John Russell and wife Joanna of Holts Summit; Kay Green and husband Danny of Jefferson City; Jane Russell of Jefferson City; Marilyn Gilliam and husband Donald of Farmington and Becky Russell of Jefferson City; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 12:00 noon, Thursday, December 15, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. David Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
