Geraldine F. Stamberger, 96, of Otterville, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Tipton Oak Manor Nursing Home.
She was born August 6, 1926 in Florence, MO, a daughter of Daniel and Minnie (Aldrich) Stillwell. On July 9, 1945 in Sedalia, she married Raymond W. Stamberger, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2012.
Geraldine enjoyed fishing and hunting which is something she did up into her 70's. She would cook for anyone that would come over, always cooking way more food than was needed. She normally always had her famous fried chicken, a big bowl of peaches, and several different types of vegetables that she had grown in her garden. Geraldine also enjoyed crocheting. She always had an ice cream bucket with her needle and yarn that she took everywhere. Geraldine made lots of doilies, pillows, and pot holders that she made for family, friends and even the nurses while she was in the nursing home. She will be remembered for her large garden where she grew the biggest tomatoes and potatoes. She would can everything that came out of her garden. Geraldine always recruited her nephews to help in the garden because it was free labor.
Survivors include three nephews, Clayburn Dunn (Nancy) of Syracuse, Raymond Phillip Dunn (Tina) of Laurie, Daniel Dunn (Brenda) of Otterville; and many other nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, five siblings, Margaret, Maxine, Martha, Mary, James; and many nieces and nephews.
